The Ox that we are seeing in the picture is called Gangireddu (Telugu), it was an age long tradition in the villages during harvest season, particular caste people were used to come to farmers' houses to fetch alms and other things. The Ox was adorned with colorful cloths along with other decorations. It obeys the instructions of it's master in saluting house holders and children get playful and follow the animal. The days are changing. Hardly we see the sight of it at present. Almost all these have become Yesteryear pleasantries.
