Here I am introducing a collection of twenty four essays and seven interviews. This is published in Telugu language and the author is Dasari Amarendra ,a best known Telugu writer for his travelogues, stories and essays.I happened to buy the book when I was confronted him at a literary meet held at Kothagudem. The first part needs a lot of space, indeed, to glance over to justify the do.So let's have a look in to the second part of the book,The interviews section.
Amarendra interviewed seven different stalwarts who contributed a lot to their respective pursuits. No doubt all of them would enrich the reader in terms with their particular areas.Kalipatnam Rama Rao,a legend story teller of contemporary Telugu literary world expressed his concerns about ongoing story writing. Many interesting issues came up and the master answered the questions are really noteworthy.
Next ...the second one is with renowned journalist/writer Khushwant Sing.Khushwant was well known for his out-spoken nature. Interacted widely about his life and writings.Amarendra wrote that he was given a few minutes of time by Sing but in course of the interaction he had loosen the constraint of the time so they discussed for hours.
K.Sachidanandan,a renowned Malayalam poet and the editor of The Indian literature was interviewed and he spoke on Malayalam poetry and he did some comparisons in terms of present movements in the sphere of Indian literature. We could also find a thought provoking interview with Vadrevu Pandu Ranga Rao( also called as Penguin Ranga Rao). His deliberations on Telugu to English translations are of much useful to serious translators.
And another Translator J.Lakshmi Reddy raised the real problems which he has been facing as an Hindi translator. The intricate things came up in the discussion are out rightly practical. The interview with Krittiventi Srinivasarao proved that he was a man of self-made.Poets Vadrevu Veera lakshmi devi and Yakoob are also there to share their thoughts.Totally deserved people. It would just not be another book,Rather it will touch you all the way.Try it.
