A Goddess in a Cave

Water keeps flowing like that without stopping...!

We have visited ,this time, a place which is of obscurely known. It is in a dense forest, covering sprawling hills all the way.We have chosen motor bike journey. So that was proved comfortable though a little bit tired.
In fact, the place, was visited by our friend Pavan Kumar earlier .His experience intrigued me to pursue this journey together. But by embarking a bike journey got us new feel as we have diverted to another road by a small mistake.Result an extra 20 miles ride.No problem, lush greenery and enchanting hilly ambiance made us forget our toil.

Holy Idol inside the cave

Exact location is nearby Jeelugmilli (mandal),approximately 20 k.m.from Vinayakapuram of  West Godavari district,A.P.,It was in Khammam district earlier, with the effect of bifurcation the place has gone to Seemandhra.Among the series of colossal hills ,the presiding Deity ,Gubbala Mangamma Talli (an incarnation of Sakti ) receiving poojas from her devotees. There was no priest or no middle man here. The holy Idol carved on the wall of the cave. The cave was created naturally. And the cold water keep flowing over it,day and night, even in this scorching summer.

Did you see the small stones...

Very few people were there when we visited, but sundays are said to be busy ones with influx of visitors and devotees. There was a tradition ,when you have any wish to be fulfilled, you have to put three stones vertically, one upon one.We have seen lines of stones in the order.

A view at the location
Pavan kumar, our friend, guide and bike rider

We can go inside the cave and touch the idol. You can get showers without your effort as there was continuous splash  of water from the top of the cave.In fact,we have to get darshan and make our offerings by standing in the water only.Though the place is less publicized ..mouth talk spread among the people and keep coming here.
